And we still got back home in time to finish off the remainder of a bar of chocolate. Needless to say, these shenanigans don't leave much time for rest and relaxation on Friday nights, but they're usually pretty fun.
Saturday morning, it was early to rise because we had the Sydney contingent of hubby's family coming over to celebrate Percy's birthday with us. There was lots to do and with the help of two toddling children, any event is like planning world war three.
Cutie was a big help to me in the kitchen as we made two chocolate cakes for the party. (note to Sydney relies who doubted we'd need two cakes - we only had 1/2 left!) She enjoys "cooking" and was having a good time dumping things into the bowl - until I got out the mixer. With that, she ran upstairs where she hid in safety from the noise. Daddy will protect me!
Cutie gets over her fear of mixers and finds out what the best part of making a cake really is!
Percy took the opportunity to nap so he'd be in a good mood when all his visitors arrived. He had a great day playing with his cousins, demonstrating his newly acquired eating skills, and munching on his first ice cream and second piece of chocolate cake. Mmm. Who needs eggplant?!
Look, Mom! Who needs hands to drive a car.
He opened his gifts - well, his 6 cousins assisted him. He didn't have a clue. But when the gifts were opened, he knew what to do with him. It was a good day for everyone. The only thing that would have been better would have been to have mommy's relatives around, too. Then the mayhem would have been complete!
Sunday was for relaxing and taking it easy. In the afternoon we took a family bike ride. It was Percy's first time on a bike and he's ready to go again. It's been a good weekend all around.

Sounds like a great weekend. Sounds like you sure needed your Sunday!! :)
Percy has changed so much to look at!
They grow and change so fast at that age!
I love that youthgroup game BTW.
thanks. We didn't come up with the game, but we enjoyed it. Sunday was good. I keep telling hubby he needs to see pictures of Topsy with his yogurt. He says to tell you hello and next time he's online, I'm going to bring them up for him to look at.
Wow, busy weekend! Congratulations on getting a party organised - your kids look like they enjoyed themselves!
Jonah is getting to be a little boy and not a baby. He looks like he really had fun. Abby looks a lot like her mommy at that age when she is helping in the kitchen. What a BIG helper. Pawpaw
My toddler kitchen training comes from the best. How was I to know that majority of the work occurred while I napped or slept.
