Our new life

We finally have our new life under control - as much as that can be, at least. We've established new routines. The kids are not completely exhausted and mommy and daddy are chasing their tails trying to keep up with things once again.

Our days now go something like this:

Thor wakes up sometime long before we really want to get up. He comes for a little snuggle in bed which is Dad's signal to get up and make breakfast. Thor is a little guy who wants his breakfast - NOW! Somewhere in all this fracus, Princess yoohoos from bed that she's ready to get up. In keeping with her name, she often refuses to get up until Mommy comes to get her and she always wants company in the 'potty'.

Eventually, we all make it into the kitchen for breakfast. Now things have changed a bit from our last place. The kitchen serves as dining room and living room, too. Hubby thinks it's pretty good because he can sit on the couch and direct Thor and Princess to bring him all the breakfast things to replace in the fridge. It does change the dynamics of breakfast a bit, but it's true. You don't have to move much to reach things.

Thor makes another trip to the fridge

After the usual morning routine (often interrupted by the neighbor's kids coming to see if things are more fun in our flat) we trundle off to our various locations. Princess has informed us that she's a 'bit sad' when we leave, but then she's happy later. Hubby and I spend the next several hours madly stuffing information into our heads to help us grasp our new jobs.

By mid afternoon, everyone's home again and all we hear is 'can I go outside'? Through much work, we've managed to eliminate the usual whinging (whining), but going outside to play with the neighborhood kids is the priority for the day.

Is this where the party is?

These days Thor is living up to his name and terrorizing all the smaller tots on the playground. Hubby and I find ourselves hard put to 'teach' him acceptable body contact. Hmm. Are boys different than girls?
Hmm. Now who shall my next victim be?

The evening meal is usually held out of door, but for family sanity, we wedge ourselves into our tiny dining area. There are too many tempting things outside for a little guy and girl to actually eat!
A guy can eat and cook at the same time here.

Then it's baths in our new bathtub, teeth, Bible, and bed. Thor's newest bedtime activity is banging on the door that separates their room from the neighbor's flat. Hmm. And last night we found him with a leg hooked over the edge of the cot. Fun days are coming.

So that's our lives in a nutshell. Here's to more reliable internet and more frequent postings.

Oh, I am so glad you posted. i have been thinking a lot about you guys!
It sounds like a real busy time. so have the kiddos settled in? Are they coping with the care that they have to go to? Are you coping? Are they able to go to the same place of care?
If you email me at mamachameleon@hotmail.com , I will then have a contact to catch up more with you.
Also please pass on our email to Katherine, so she can send her postal address and then my boys can write a letter to Josh. We pray for her family too, for Josh and Ned as well as for you guys.

Take care!
*hugs*

Have you ever seen pictures of your hubby when he was one, living in the same place you are now? Looking at the photos of Thor is scary/eerie....
